Slack Notifications for WordPress Security Alerts

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 189 views

AIO Login Pro allows you to send real-time WordPress security alerts to Slack, so your team can monitor login activity without accessing the WordPress dashboard. Receive instant notifications for failed logins, IP lockouts, and user enumeration attempts directly in your Slack workspace. Slack Notifications is a Pro feature and requires an active AIO Login Pro license.

Overview

With Slack integration for WordPress security, you can stay informed about suspicious login activity as it happens. Notifications are delivered in a structured format, helping you quickly identify threats like brute-force attacks and unauthorized access attempts.

How to Set Up Slack Notifications

Step 1: Access Notifications Settings

Navigates to WordPress Dashboard → AIO Login → Activity Log → Notifications

You will see available channels such as Slack and Webhook.

Step 2: Enable Slack Integration

Toggle the Slack option ON and click Configure.

Step 3: Connect Your Slack Workspace

You can connect Slack using one of the following methods:

Connect with Slack

  • Click Connect with Slack
Connect-slack
  • You will be redirected to Slack authorization
connect-redirect (1)
  • Select your workspace and channel
  • Authorize the connection
connect redirect
  • You’ll be redirected back with the webhook automatically configured

After a successful connection, you will see:
Connected with Slack successfully.”

Note: The webhook must be a valid Slack Incoming Webhook URL (hooks.slack.com).

Step 4: Configure Event Triggers

Select which WordPress security event notification should send Slack alerts:

  • Lockout Attempts (Always Enabled)
Triggered when an IP is blocked after multiple failed login attempts.
  • Failed Login Attempts (Optional)
    Triggered on every failed login.
  • User Enumeration Attempts (Optional)
Triggered when username discovery attempts are detected.

Note: Enabling failed login alerts on high-traffic sites may generate a large number of notifications.

Click Save Changes to activate Slack notifications.

What Slack Alerts Look Like

Each notification is sent as a formatted Slack message with structured data:

Lockout Alerts

  • Header: Lock icon + IP Lockout
  • Details: Site, Time, IP Address, Location
  • Footer: Site URL

Failed Login Alerts

  • Header: Block icon + Failed Login
  • Details: Site, Time, Username, IP Address, Location
  • Additional Info: User agent and site reference

User Enumeration Alerts

  • Header: Detective icon + User Enumeration
  • Details: Site, Time, Type, Username, IP Address
  • Footer: Site URL

Best Practice: Use a dedicated Slack channel (e.g., #security-alerts) to keep notifications organized and avoid clutter.
